With the Workleap LMS and Workleap Onboarding integration, you can seamlessly add training to your onboarding processes, ensuring that new employees have access to the right training, at the right moment, throughout their onboarding journey.
This guide will walk you through integrating LMS courses into your onboarding templates.
Step 1: Adding LMS Courses to Onboarding Templates
When creating or editing an onboarding plan in Workleap Onboarding, you can easily add LMS courses as part of the onboarding activities. Here's how:
Open an Onboarding template or plan: Navigate to the onboarding template or plan you want to customize.
Add a Training Activity: In the calendar, create a new activity on the day you wish to edit.
Choose the LMS Course: Under the "Add Activity" section, select Training as the activity type. A keyword search menu will appear, allowing you to search for any LMS courses available to you based on your LMS permissions.
You can only select public courses or those where you're listed as a course owner.
Once a course is selected, click on "Add Training" to link to onboarding activity to the LMS course.
Save the Plan: Once a course is selected, click on "Add Training" to link to onboarding activity to the LMS course, which will auto-save the activity update.
Step 2: Onboarding New Employees with LMS Training
When a new employee is onboarded using a plan that includes LMS training:
Course Display: The LMS course will appear as a course card in the new hire's onboarding activity detail window. This card will show essential course details such as the course name, description, and thumbnail.
Accessing the Course: By clicking on the course card, the new employee will be automatically enrolled in the course and redirected to it in a new browser tab. The course will open at the first lesson to drive people towards learning instantaneously.
Course Progress: As the employee completes the course, their progress is tracked within the LMS.
Step 3: Automatic Activity Completion in Onboarding
After an employee completes the assigned course in the LMS, the training activity in their onboarding plan will automatically be marked as completed. There’s no need for manual intervention, allowing your onboarding process to stay efficient and streamlined.
Managers can therefore monitor progress of new hires through Workleap Onboarding alone, preventing the need to switch between systems to make sure employees are completing courses as expected.
Important Notes:
Permissions: Ensure you have the correct LMS permissions to include specific courses in onboarding templates.
Tracking Progress: The onboarding system tracks course completion, so managers can see at a glance when a new hire finishes their training.
User Experience: The user experience is designed to be smooth, with minimal clicks between onboarding tasks and LMS training.
