For a lot of our clients, the creation of online courses is a very nice passive approach to generating additional income. While many people still value the personalized contact with learners, the benefits of an automated structure are well-known by the masses.
Automations between your apps and management systems allow you to optimize the time and effort required to run your operations, as well as the number of actions to take, in order to obtain the best possible result for your project.
What is Zapier?
Zapier is a communication system among thousands of different applications, coming from various sectors.
This solution acts as a translator between the different programming languages of applications and ensures that every supported app can communicate with others. Zapier is often seen as the roundabout for applications.
Didacte offers an integration with Zapier and feeds the information system according to different types of behavior/events.
When one of the events targeted by the integration occurs inside your platform, an automated chain of actions is triggered. Didacte sends the information to Zapier, which in turn is responsible for notifying the different linked applications of this event, generating an action in the third-party associated application.
Synchronizing Didacte and Zapier
In order to synchronize your platform with Zapier, you will first need to create a Zapier account from their website.
Under the "API Key" section of the administration panel on your Didacte platform, you can then click on "Enable Zapier integration".
A window will be prompted with both icons from the 2 systems. All you need to do is to click on "Accept Invite and Build Zap"
Creating your first Zap
A classic example of integration is the automation between your Didacte platform and your newsletter system (Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, CyberImpact, etc.)
Didacte currently offers different "ZAP" that can be linked to your newsletter system:
- Creating a new account on your platform
- New registration for a training
- Termination of an online training
- User Invitation
- User Account Update
Each of these behaviors, these "ZAP" as Zapier calls them, can thus trigger series of events.
The most traditional case is the addition of a person to a newsletter following the creation of his account on a Didacte platform.
To do this you must first identify the behavior that will trigger the desired automation:
- Create your Zapier account (3 ZAP offered on their Free plan)
- Create a "ZAP" and choose Didacte as main application
- Configure the triggering behavior
- Synchronize with your Didacte platform.
When this configuration is done, all that remains is to configure the action to be automated according to the trigger.
To do this you will need:
- Target the application to synchronize (Mailchimp, CyberImpact, Email by Zapier, etc.)
- Determine the behavior to be performed upon receipt of the Didacte trigger
- Establish the email template to send
- Test the sequence.
